Home Groups are an important part of the landscape at Christ Church. It is in our groups that people find a place in which they can grow and develop in their relationship with Jesus and develop deeper bonds of friendship with other believers. Some groups are focused on working with those who are questioning their faith and seeking to know if the Christian life is real. Other groups are working with new Christians, deepening their understanding and walk with Jesus. Other groups cater for those who are seeking to go deeper in their faith.
Each of the groups seeks to balance friendship building, prayer, study and worship of God. It has been said that Christians grow about seven times faster in a small group than if they just attend a church. Our experience is that this is true. The fruit of a maturing Christian walk is seen in the ministries that develop touching the life of people in the community around us. Our groups have provided a springboard for ministries into the community, in prison ministry, to the elderly in our Drop Inn, or to the young in Mainly Music and the KidzSpace holiday programme. One of our groups, Bible Friends, cares for those who are "differently-abled".
Our groups are made up of adults of all ages, stages of life and spiritual maturity. These groups take part in fellowship, Bible study, prayer and accountability. Each group consists of 10-12 people, couples and individuals that meet on a regular basis in someone's home. It is our belief that connecting with other members and attendees will allow each person the opportunity to experience the fullness of Jesus Christ. By participating in a group, you will not only build lasting friendships with other believers, you will also experience community as described in Acts 2. To join a group, contact either Nick Kirk our Vicar or the host/leader below.
The following is a list of home groups for you to attend:
Please note: Do not let transport stop you from attending a group. Ask the leader/host on the list above and they will help find transport for you.
